Downtown's Donut Bar is famous for its artisan creations and giant specialty donuts, while Sesame Donuts in Carmel Mountain was ranked among Yelp's top donut shops in the nation. North County's Broad Street Dough Co. in Encinitas has earned a loyal following for its made-to-order warm donuts and creative flavors.
If you're craving a classic neighborhood shop experience, locals continue to swear by Mary's Donuts in Santee and Peterson's Donut Corner in Escondido, both longtime favorites known for fresh-made donuts and oversized signature pastries.
No matter which style you prefer, National Donut Day is a delicious reminder that San Diego has no shortage of great places to satisfy your sweet tooth.
🚗 Cruisin' Grand Returns – Fridays Beginning June 5, Escondido
Downtown Escondido's beloved classic car cruise is back for its 2026 season. Hundreds of vintage vehicles, live entertainment, local shops, and a nostalgic Main Street atmosphere make this one of North County's signature summer traditions.
Bad news is good business. Not everyone buys it.
Every morning, financial news follows the same script. Headlines panic, coverage catastrophises, and somewhere inside the noise is the story that actually matters — the one that tells you where the opportunity sits, not just where the fear is pointing.
Most sources have stopped looking. The alarm is easier to sell.
The Daily Upside was created by Wall Street insiders for readers who crave real insight over recycled anxiety. Five minutes of global business and finance, before the noise sets the agenda — just the facts, context, and analysis your decisions need.
Join 1M readers — including managing directors and principals at some of Wall Street’s largest institutions — who trust The Daily Upside to filter through the chaos.
The upsides are always there. We’ll find them before breakfast.
🎨 Fallbrook First Fridays – June 5, Downtown Fallbrook
Art galleries, live music, local businesses, and community activities come together for Fallbrook's monthly First Friday celebration. It's a great excuse to explore one of San Diego County's most charming small-town downtowns.

❓ San Diego History Trivia Answer
Answer: C) An airport used by racegoers and celebrities ✈️
Did you know? The Del Mar Airport - originally known as San Dieguito Airfield - opened in the 1920s and became a popular way for wealthy visitors, Hollywood stars, and horse racing fans to fly directly to Del Mar. The airfield was later expanded by the Navy during World War II, including use as a blimp base for coastal defense. After decades of service, the airport closed in 1959, and the land was eventually redeveloped into the neighborhoods and parks seen today.
