❓ San Diego History Trivia Answer
Answer: A) Electric streetcars
Fun Facts:
In the early 1900s, San Diego built an extensive electric streetcar system that connected downtown with emerging neighborhoods like Mission Hills, North Park, and beach communities. Developers often laid streetcar lines before homes were built, knowing reliable electric transit would drive growth.
These streetcars weren’t just convenient — they helped define where San Diego expanded long before freeways existed.
Today’s San Diego Trolley traces its roots back to that era. While modern light rail runs on dedicated tracks and serves a wider region, the idea is the same: electric-powered transit shaping how the city moves and grows.
