🍷 Carlsbad Wine Walk, Restaurant Week, & Classic Cars

There’s plenty happening around San Diego this weekend, from wine tasting in Carlsbad and classic cars at Sunset Cliffs to Greek food and dancing in Cardiff. Restaurant Week gets underway Sunday, local artists take over Downtown El Cajon, and we found an ancient volcano hiding in plain sight in Carlsbad.

Friday also marks the 25th anniversary of September 11. We’ve included a local remembrance aboard the USS Midway for those who would like to commemorate the day.

🥑 Answer: Reed. The original Reed avocado tree grew from a seed planted on James Reed's property in Carlsbad around 1948. Reed patented the variety in 1960. Known for its large, round fruit and creamy texture, it's still considered one of the best summer avocados for Southern California.
