Skip the crowds for a moment and explore the streets that gave downtown San Diego its start. Built in 1850, the Davis-Horton House is the oldest surviving structure in downtown San Diego. Originally constructed as a prefabricated home shipped around Cape Horn from Maine, it has served as a residence, military hospital, courthouse, and county office. Today it houses the Gaslamp Museum, offering a fascinating glimpse into the city's earliest American era.
