🦅 Raptor Talk First Sunday monthly (9am-noon) Meet falconer Bob Gordon and majestic birds of prey at Mission Trails Regional Park Visitor Center for educational demonstrations.

🐕 Cardiff Dog Days August 3 (10am-3pm) 20th anniversary celebration with dog contests, rescue adoptions, live music, food trucks. Shuttle service available from designated parking areas.

🚗 Point Loma Cars & Coffee Saturdays (7:30am-10am) Weekly car enthusiast meetup at Shelter Island near Bali Hai restaurant featuring vehicles of all makes with waterfront views.

Smashburger fans rejoice! The popular food truck from Chef Joel Bautista has gone brick-and-mortar with cheesy double-patty burgers, loaded fries, wild shakes, and “out of this world” sauce—open daily in Pacific Beach.

Step into a luxe European-inspired experience with table-side carts, prime rib, and a glamorous old-Hollywood lobby setting—Le Horse brings fine dining flair to North Park this summer.

The Hike of the Week

🥾 Torrey Pines Beach Trail Loop Open Daily Discover this 2.3-mile loop trail that takes an average of 1 hour to complete featuring a visitor center, ocean views and beaches, wildlife viewing opportunities (I spotted a White Shark in the Surf from the Top of the Bluff), and the nation's rarest pine tree - Pinus torreyana, the Torrey Pine - and beach access for a post-hike cool-off!

The Local - Places to See

🏨 Campo Stone Store Museum Historic Outpost Built in 1885 as a stone "fortress" after border bandits raided the original wooden frame store in 1875, this California Historic Landmark served both sides of the border as a vital supply post and community gathering place in the remote mountain town of Campo.

Trivia Answer:
A) San Francisco where The Panama-Pacific International Exposition was held.

Both cities held competing expositions in 1915 to celebrate the Panama Canal's completion. While San Francisco's was larger, San Diego's ran longer (1915-1916) and created the lasting Spanish Colonial Revival architecture we see in Balboa Park today.
